Adjustment of status with concurrent filing

When an applicant within the United States is an immediate relative of a U.S. citizen and is eligible to change from a temporary (also called “nonimmigrant”) status (for instance a student visa) to a permanent status (green card) and files the initial application (revolving around form I-130) and the request for an adjustment of status (revolving around form I-485) at the same time (“concurrently”), which is an advantage.
