The applicant may be inadmissible and denied a green card because of prior arrests, in particular:
- Convictions of multiple crimes with a combined sentence of five years or more
- Drug-related crimes
- Prostitution-related crimes
- Any crime, irrespective of the sentence, that U.S. immigration agencies view as being inherently base, vile, or depraved (spousal abuse, rape, voluntary manslaughter, child abuse)
